Overview
Cut+Dry now automatically enriches your customer profiles with segmentation data pulled from public sources including Yelp, Google, TripAdvisor, and DoorDash. This gives you a richer picture of who your customers are — what type of establishment they run, what cuisine they serve, what price point they operate at, and more — without any manual data entry on your part.
We match active customers at an average rate of 55%, so roughly half your active accounts will already have segmentation data populated when you visit their profile. For accounts without a match, you can add or edit the data manually.
Viewing Segmentation Data
Segmentation data appears on the Customer Profile page in the Distributor Portal. Any user with access to a customer's profile can view the available segmentation fields for that account.
If data has been pulled in automatically, you'll see values already filled in. If a field is blank, it means we either couldn't find a match from public sources or the information wasn't available.
Editing Segmentation Data
Users with customer profile access can also edit or add segmentation data directly on the profile page. This is useful when:
- A field was pulled in incorrectly and needs to be corrected
- A customer record didn't match and you want to fill it in manually
- A customer's business has changed (new cuisine type, new service model, etc.)
Simply click into any segmentation field on the profile and update the value.
Bulk Editing with the Segmentation Editor
Because we average a 55% match rate, many accounts may have incomplete segmentation data. Rather than updating records one at a time, use the Segmentation Editor to update multiple customer records at once.
The Segmentation Editor is the recommended tool if you have a significant number of accounts with missing or incorrect data. You can filter, sort, and edit in bulk — saving time compared to visiting each customer profile individually.

How Segmentation Data Will Be Used
These fields are being integrated across Cut+Dry to give you more powerful tools for understanding and targeting your customer base. Upcoming uses include:
- Yes Chef (AI Chat) — Ask questions like "How are my Fine Dining accounts performing?" or "What's my revenue from Mexican restaurants this quarter?"
- CRM — Build targeted outreach lists based on segmentation filters, such as all Fast Casual accounts in a specific metro area, or every customer tagged with a $$ price range.
- Additional integrations across the platform as the feature evolves.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my customer not have any segmentation data? We pull data from public sources (Yelp, Google, TripAdvisor, DoorDash, etc.) and match it to your active customers. On average, we match about 55% of active accounts. If a customer isn't matched, the fields will be blank and you can fill them in manually.
Can I correct data that was pulled in incorrectly? Yes. Any user with access to the customer profile can edit segmentation fields directly on the profile page.
I have hundreds of accounts with missing data. Do I need to update them one by one? No — use the Segmentation Editor to update multiple records at once. It's designed specifically for bulk updates.
Will my manual edits be overwritten by automatic data pulls? Manual edits you make are preserved. If you've entered or corrected a value, it will not be automatically overwritten.
When will segmentation data be available in Yes Chef and CRM? These integrations are coming soon. The segmentation data you see and maintain now will power those features when they launch.
