Add Substitute(s) for an Item

Overview

To prevent a lost sale, Cut+Dry can compare your inventory quantities and offer a customer a substitute choice. If product substitutions are already set up within your ERP, those will automatically flow over into Cut+Dry—but you can also manually add subs, in cases of seasonal or unpredictable stock.

Follow these steps to manually add an item substitute.

Add substitute(s) for an item

1. Select Catalog from the navigation menu, then use the search box to find and select your product.
2. On the product item page, select the Substitutes tab.
   
3. Select the +Add Substitution link.
   
4. Select a substitute item from the dropdown list, then Add.
5. Select the Show Subs radio button, then Save Changes.

Result

With “Show Subs” enabled, customers that select your product will be offered a substitution option before they finish checkout.
